Erythrodiol은 Olive Oil에서 발견되는 Triterpene(트리테르펜) 화합물로, 다양한 생리활성(Biological Activities)을 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 연구에 따르면, Erythrodiol은 Phenylephrine으로 수축된 분리된 랫드 대동맥 고리(Isolated Rat Aortic Rings)에서 혈관 이완(Vasorelaxation)을 유도하며, EC50 값은 3.38 µM입니다.

또한 HT-29 Adenocarcinoma Cells의 증식을 억제하는 효과를 나타내며, EC50 값은 48.8 µM으로 보고되었습니다. MCF-7 유방암 세포(MCF-7 Cells)에서는 100 µM 농도에서 Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS)의 생성을 증가시키고 Apoptosis(세포자멸사)를 유도하는 것으로 확인되었습니다.

동물실험에서는 Erythrodiol을 0.5 mg/ear 농도로 국소 투여했을 때, Phorbol 12-Myristate 13-Acetate (TPA)에 의해 유도된 귀 부종(Ear Edema)과 Myeloperoxidase (MPO) 활성을 유의하게 감소시키는 항염증 효과를 나타냈습니다.
